Norwalk, CT. August 23, 2001. "Our team of volunteers is the life-blood of TLC's Health for Life Partnership's October Breast Health Awareness Project" according to Beth Leas and Drew DiVittorio, co-founders of the program hosted by the Total Life Care Center, 152 East Ave. "We depend on our volunteers to implement the various program ideas we came up with during our initial meetings. They have worked hard in getting sponsors, space, speakers and in pulling together our September fund raiser, all in an effort to make this project a success. We couldn't do it without them."

One such volunteer, Deb Guerin, has been asked to use her many years experience as a corporate project manager to keep the project on track and moving forward. Deb moved to Norwalk, CT six years ago from Long Island, NY. Within her first year in CT, she began attending the various workshops and services provided by TLC and became acquainted with many of the Center's practitioners and affiliates. "When Beth and Drew asked for volunteers I knew I had to be part of this project. Like most people, I know someone who has suffered from breast cancer, many have survived, some haven't. This project touches each of us differently but we are all working together for a common goal, to create a program for patients, survivors, caregivers and any woman or man who just wants to learn more."

Deb is a self-employed businesswoman, whose several businesses include a home-based enterprise as a distributor for Market America, a product broker. "We carry a wide variety of products that I will be sharing with those visiting TLC in October. As a certified Motives makeup consultant, I will be offering patients, survivors and caregivers free makeovers on the day of the Symposium. I will also have information available throughout the month on current research and our line of nutritional supplements as part of a wellness program for women". Deb is also offering certificates for free makeovers during TLC's September 9th FUNdraiser. Her web site is debguerin.unfranchise.com. Another of her businesses is as an independent consultant for Computer Connections in Branford, CT and she is currently working at a large corporation in Wilton. Because she is no longer commuting to Manhattan and lives only six miles from her current position, she is able to use those new found hours in a constructive way. Deb volunteers as the creator and manager of TLC's website, she manages the norwalk.com community calendar and has delivered weekly introductory computer classes in Stamford. "Because of my desire to help others grow and become all that they can be, I am finding I can fit more things into my already busy life."

Health for Life Partnership's goal is to donate half of the net proceeds to Breast Cancer Foundations and use the remaining funds to create ongoing health programs in the local community, which will provide ALL women life saving information, referrals to high quality screening services and follow-up care.
